These Terms and Conditions and Terms of Use govern the use of the website chaosflat.com and the app Chaosflat.
Chaosflat is an app for organizing households, shared flats, and everyday shared tasks. Through Chaosflat, users can, among other things, create or join households, manage tasks, keep shopping lists, and document shared expenses.

2. Scope
These Terms of Use apply to the use of the website chaosflat.com, the app Chaosflat, and all related features, content, and services.
By using Chaosflat, you accept these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use Chaosflat.
Additional terms may apply to individual features, for example the terms of the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or other platform providers.
3. Description of the Service
Chaosflat supports users in organizing shared households. This may include in particular the following features:
- creating and managing a household or shared flat
- inviting additional household members
- managing tasks and completion status
- creating and using shopping lists
- documenting shared expenses
- managing premium features or subscriptions
- notifications, reminders, and other organizational features
The specific scope of features may vary depending on version, platform, country, technical status, and the chosen plan.
4. User Account
A user account is required to use certain features.
You are obliged to provide accurate and up-to-date information when registering. You are also responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and protecting your account from unauthorized access.
If you suspect that your account has been misused or accessed without authorization, you should contact us immediately.
We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently suspend user accounts in the event of a violation of these Terms of Use, applicable law, or legitimate security interests.
5. Use Within a Household
Chaosflat is designed for shared use within a household, shared flat, family, or similar group.
Content that you create within a household may be visible to other members of that household. This includes in particular tasks, shopping list entries, expenses, names, assignments, comments, or other content you enter in the app.
You are solely responsible for what information you share within your household.
6. User Obligations
You agree to use Chaosflat only lawfully and as intended.
In particular, the following is not permitted:
- using Chaosflat for unlawful purposes
- uploading, storing, or sharing unlawful, offensive, discriminatory, threatening, or otherwise impermissible content
- attempting to gain unauthorized access to third-party accounts, data, or systems
- disrupting, overloading, or manipulating the technical infrastructure
- circumventing security mechanisms or access restrictions
- misusing invitations, households, premium features, or subscriptions
- automated use of the app, unless expressly permitted
We reserve the right to remove impermissible content and to suspend or delete user accounts in the event of violations.
7. User Content
You generally retain the rights to the content you enter into Chaosflat.
However, you grant us the right to technically process, store, display, and transmit this content to the extent necessary to provide and operate Chaosflat.
This includes in particular displaying your content to other members of the same household, synchronizing between devices, and the technical backup and maintenance of the service.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your content is lawful and does not infringe the rights of third parties.
8. Free and Paid Features
Chaosflat may offer both free and paid features.
Paid features may be offered in particular as a one-time purchase, in-app purchase, or subscription. The specific scope of features, prices, and term are each displayed within the app, in the Apple App Store, in the Google Play Store, or on another platform.
We reserve the right to change, restrict, or discontinue free features at any time. Additional terms of the respective offer apply to paid features.
9. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed via the Apple App Store, the Google Play Store, or other platform providers.
Payment processing takes place directly through the respective platform provider. The terms of the respective platform provider additionally apply to payment, renewal, cancellation, refunds, and billing.
We use RevenueCat to technically manage and validate purchases and subscriptions and to unlock premium features.
Depending on the platform, a subscription may renew automatically unless it is cancelled in time via the account settings of the respective app store.
Cancellation of a subscription generally takes place via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and not directly through Chaosflat.
10. Prices and Changes
The applicable prices are displayed in the app, in the Apple App Store, in the Google Play Store, or on the respective sales platform.
We reserve the right to change prices, the scope of features, or offer models. Price changes for existing subscriptions are governed by the rules of the respective platform provider.
If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel your subscription in accordance with the requirements of the respective platform provider.
11. Trial Periods, Discounts, and Promotions
We may offer time-limited trial periods, discounts, vouchers, or special promotions.
Such offers may be changed, ended, or made subject to certain conditions at any time. There is no entitlement to the permanent availability of such offers.
After a free trial period ends, a paid subscription may begin, provided this was indicated accordingly when the trial period was concluded and you agreed to it.
12. Availability and Technical Changes
We strive to provide Chaosflat reliably and with as few interruptions as possible. However, we cannot guarantee availability at all times.
Restrictions or interruptions may occur, in particular due to:
- maintenance work
- updates
- technical malfunctions
- security measures
- failures of third-party providers
- force majeure
- changes by app stores or platform providers
We reserve the right to further develop Chaosflat and to change, add to, restrict, or discontinue features, to the extent reasonable for users.
13. Beta Versions and New Features
Certain features may be provided as a beta version, test feature, or preview version.
Such features may contain errors, be incomplete, or be changed or removed later. There is no entitlement to the permanent provision of specific beta features.
14. No Financial Service
Chaosflat may provide features for recording, splitting, or tracking shared expenses.
However, Chaosflat is not a financial service provider, payment service provider, trustee, or debt collection service. The app itself does not carry out payments between household members and assumes no responsibility for whether expenses are correctly, completely, or actually paid.
Users are themselves responsible for reviewing and settling their expenses, statements, and mutual payments.
15. Notifications and Reminders
Chaosflat may offer notifications and reminders, for example for tasks, shopping lists, expenses, or other app events.
We do not guarantee that notifications will always be delivered in a timely, complete, or error-free manner. Delivery may depend on device settings, operating systems, internet connection, and services provided by Apple, Google, or other providers.
16. Intellectual Property
The Chaosflat app, the chaosflat.com website, the design, software, logos, texts, graphics, trademarks, features, and other content are legally protected.
Unless expressly permitted, this content may not be copied, modified, distributed, published, sold, rented, decompiled, or otherwise exploited.
Using Chaosflat does not grant you any ownership rights to the app, the software, or other protected components.
17. Data Protection
Information on the processing of personal data can be found in our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy is part of our transparent information about our data processing, but is not a substitute for these Terms of Use.
18. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damages caused by intentional or grossly negligent conduct.
For slight negligence, we are only liable for breaches of material contractual obligations and only for foreseeable, typical damages, to the extent permitted by law.
We assume no liability for:
- content created by users
- incorrect or incomplete entries in tasks, shopping lists, or expenses
- disputes between household members
- undelivered or delayed notifications
- data loss, to the extent it could have been prevented by reasonable backup measures on your part
- failures or errors of third-party providers, app stores, payment service providers, or platforms
- damages caused by improper use of the app
Mandatory statutory liability provisions remain unaffected.
19. Termination and Account Deletion
You may stop using Chaosflat at any time.
Where an account deletion feature is available, you can delete your user account directly in the app. Alternatively, you can contact us at nicolas@heex.ch.
Deleting your account does not automatically terminate an active subscription in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscriptions must be cancelled separately via the respective platform provider.
Certain data may continue to be stored where legally required or where legitimate reasons exist, for example for billing, abuse prevention, or compliance with statutory retention obligations.
20. Suspension and Termination by Us
We may temporarily or permanently suspend your account or your access to Chaosflat if:
- you violate these Terms of Use
- you misuse Chaosflat
- you infringe the rights of third parties
- legal or regulatory reasons require it
- security risks exist
- the operation of Chaosflat is discontinued
Where possible and reasonable, we will inform you of a suspension or termination.
21. Changes to These Terms of Use
We reserve the right to amend these Terms of Use, in particular if legal requirements, technical features, business models, or the service providers we use change.
The current version is available on our website.
For material changes, we may additionally inform you within the app or by email. If you continue to use Chaosflat after the changes take effect, the amended terms are deemed accepted, to the extent legally permissible.
22. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
Swiss law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules.
To the extent legally permissible, the place of jurisdiction is Bern, Switzerland.
Mandatory consumer protection provisions at the user's place of residence remain unaffected.
23. Severability Clause
Should any provision of these Terms of Use be invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
In place of the invalid provision, a valid arrangement shall be deemed agreed that comes as close as legally possible to the economic purpose of the original provision.
